Hello. I can't recall if I contacted you before. If so, forgive me I'm still looking for McNees related info.

My connection to the McNees family is this: Samuel C. McNees married my g.g.g.g.grandmother, a widow, Elizabeth Cummins in Rutherford County, TN, ca 1806. They moved to Missouri and Elizabeth had at least two more children, boys, Samuel C., Jr., Calvin and William L. A John C. McNees was the executor of Samuel C. (Sr.) estate and in a later period, John C.'s daughter married into the Edwards family (that of John C. Edwards, Mexican War governor of Missouri).

Samuel C. the younger is the man who was killed by Indians at Corrumpa, NM.

I believe that Samuel C. McNees knew the Cummins family prior to their coming to TN from PA but I can't seem to connect Samuel or John C. to any particular family. Samuel C. the elder was an educated man because he worked as a teacher prior to going to MO and getting involved in the Santa Fe trade. Help appreciated and I'll gladly share my McNees data.
